3 Skills Every Digital Marketing Firm Wants in 2022

In the traditional sense, marketing is about as far away from modern marketing as it can be. I’d argue that soon there won’t be a “digital marketing” and “traditional marketing” split – there will just be marketing, and it’ll all be digital.

Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s any easier to figure out just what a marketer does in the first place! The world of digital marketing is pretty wide-ranging, with many skills and cross-pollination of crafts. As a result, employers and employees seem to be just as confused as each other over what to do!

In today’s blog, I’ll look at what I think are the three most vital skills for any digital marketing studio. If you’re looking to break into the industry or round out your team with some new skills, this is the blog for you!

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Like it or not; the whims of search engines practically govern the internet. It’s not enough to make sure your content/product/service is popular with customers – it has to apply to the big algorithms too.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is just that, making pages and content more palatable to the search engines to ensure they put your work as high up the results congo-line as possible.

As a result, SEO is about as fundamental as it gets with digital marketing and something everyone should know at least a little bit about.

Data Analysis

Analyzing the vast streams of data on today’s internet is the backbone of any digital campaign worth it’s salt. Sifting through that data to find the best angle easily is even more essential and can be a make-or-break moment for many businesses.

Digital metrics are vital in marketing because they give weight to the techniques that become difficult to measure when explaining results or principles to skeptical clients. As a result, taking a brief look at a website’s data and seeing a problem is a vital skill that most digital marketers should have.

Content Creation

Content marketing is the present and future of digital marketing. Content is king, as they say. Consumers see a lot of content in a day when browsing the internet – making it hard to get a message out to otherwise distracted customers.

As a result, having talented folks that can create content of a certain quality is vital for any studio – and something that sets apart most job candidates. Whether it’s written content for blogs and web copy, video content, or even graphic imagery, it’s all hands on deck when it comes to creating content in the current age.

That’s it for today’s entry! Check out my other blogs for more thoughts on the latest digital industry development and entrepreneurship challenges in the online world.

Until then, see ya later!
